I was born December 5th 1942 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Ernest and Eleanor Tegelman. My father was 44 years old and my mother was 42 years old. My father died at the age of 59. I was only 17 years old and I had one brother and he was serving the Navy. I graduated from DC Everest high school in 1961.

On December 5th 1964 on my birthday Uncle Sam called and I was drafted into the Army. Had basic training at Fort Knox, KY and my AIT was at Fort Polk,LA . sented to Oakland, CA got orders to go to Hawaii. Boy was I happy? then a Sgt said to me Hawaii is a stepping stone to Vietnam.
Went to Schofield Barrack with the 25th Infantry Division then they signed me to the 3rd squadron 4th Cavalry D Troop. Orders came through for D troop to ship over to Nam and dock on April fools day and it was no April fools day for us.

After Nam I drank for a year and a half. In March 68 I started working for Weyerhaeuser Paper and retired after 37 1/2 years. I now live in Tomahawk, Wisconsin for the summer for 6 months and in the winter for 6 months in Deltona,FL.
