I had an interesting end of my military career. I got melanoma cancer and couldn’t fly anymore. I had 12 years in and was a retired as an 04. I elected to “go Enlisted.”
So one day I was an 04 and the next an E5!
Then I retired,again, after a total of 33 years service, as an E-7.
As I’m sure u know, those extra enlisted rears count as 0-4 pay for retirement!!!
An awesome part of my life!!!!
